The purpose of establishing the Alimony Fund is to facilitate and assist the beneficiary in obtaining the court-ordered alimony when it becomes impossible to enforce the judgment directly on the obligated party or their visible assets due to their insolvency, absence, lack of a known address, or evasion of financial obligations towards the beneficiary, particularly in cases involving women, who are often the recipients of alimony, either as wives or as guardians of their children.
The Fund will provide this service to reduce the effort and time required, easing the burden on the beneficiaries, preserving their dignity, and protecting them by securing alimony payments directly. The Fund will play a vital role in ensuring the financial support of those in need, as it is one of the national institutions contributing to the social safety net provided by the state to various sectors in need of protection.
Through its essential services, the Fund's management aims to contribute to the national vision of protecting families, ensuring their stability and continuity, and enhancing the human rights system's integrity and protection. The first phase of the Fund's establishment included opening the amman Alimony fund Office in the third quarter of 2017. It immediately began receiving, categorizing, studying, and making decisions on applications by the Fund's regulations and the instructions issued by its board of directors.
To further streamline and simplify procedures for citizens and reduce costs for Fund beneficiaries, the Fund aspires to automate all its operations, ultimately providing services electronically in alignment with the government's e-government project and its requirements. In this context, the Fund enters into memoranda of understanding with various relevant entities to establish direct links for obtaining information and data after completing the necessary procedures with each entity. It aims to access the required information and data directly from their sources, eliminating the need for beneficiaries to visit these entities and provide supporting documents for their applications.
